The spokesperson for the judiciary announced that Amir Tataloo’s death sentence has been issued.
Asghar Jahangir, in response to a question regarding the publication of a letter by Amir Hossein Maqsoudloo stating that he will be executed in a month, said that based on my follow-up with the Tehran Criminal Court, firstly, he has been sentenced to 10 years in prison by Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court for the charge of inciting corruption, and he is currently serving his sentence.
He added that regarding the charge of insulting sacred values, he was sentenced to 5 years by Branch 9 of the Tehran Criminal Court. The case went to Branch 9 of the Supreme Court for appeal and was overturned.
After the sentence was overturned, the case went to Branch 6 of the Criminal Court, where the attributed offense was proven, and according to Article 262 of the Penal Code and Article 513 of the Penal Code, the death sentence was issued. The sentence is currently in the appeal phase in the Supreme Court, and its finality has not been announced yet. We are waiting for the Supreme Court.
Jahangir continued, therefore, any information dissemination before the Supreme Court announces it is not confirmed.
