Judiciary Spokesperson Announces Trial Date for Niloufar Hamedi and Elahe Mohammadi's Case

The spokesperson for the Judiciary announced the trial date for the cases of Niloufar Hamedi and Elaheh Mohammadi has been set.

Masoud Setayeshi, the spokesperson for the Judiciary, announced that the trial date has been set for the cases of Elaheh Mohammadi and Niloufar Hamedi, journalists detained during the unrest related to the death of Mahsa Amini in the fall of 2022.

Setayeshi stated that the preliminary trial date for Ms. Elaheh Mohammadi is June 8th and for Niloufar Hamedi is June 9th, and in the coming days, the court will be convened to address the charges with full precision and appropriate speed.

According to this report, the Judiciary spokesperson had announced on April 26th of this year that indictments had been issued for Niloufar Hamedi and Elaheh Mohammadi on charges of collaborating with the U.S. government, assembly and collusion to commit crimes against national security, and propaganda activities against the regime, and that their cases had been forwarded to Branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court.
