Judiciary to Prosecute Users Engaging in Iranophobia on Social Media

The judiciary will pursue users who engage in Iranophobia on social media.

The Iranian judiciary states that social media users who promote Iranophobia will face legal action.

Today, Asghar Jahangir, the spokesperson for the judiciary, said that if individuals seek to promote Iranophobia and create conditions that prevent people from returning to the country, necessary legal actions will be pursued at the appropriate time with the announcement of competent authorities.

He mentioned that the Cyber Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office, in collaboration with security and law enforcement agencies, including the Ministry of Intelligence, the IRGC Intelligence Organization, and the Law Enforcement Intelligence Organization, has a permanent task force that monitors social media and reports to the prosecutor’s office.

In recent years, there has been a significant increase in the arrest of Iranian expatriates traveling to Iran, especially those with European and American citizenship.

The United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, the Netherlands, and Sweden are among the governments that have recently warned about the dangers of traveling to Iran, particularly to their citizens of Iranian descent.
