Kaja Kallas, the European Union’s foreign policy chief, warned on Tuesday, December 11, about the risk of sectarian violence in Syria.

She called for the cooperation of international powers to help facilitate a peaceful transition after the fall of Bashar al-Assad.

In a meeting with European Union lawmakers, Kallas said we must prevent the repetition of the horrific scenarios of Iraq, Libya, and Afghanistan in Syria.
