Kallas: Attacks on Gulf countries are unacceptable
Kaja Kallas, the European Union’s foreign policy chief, expressed concern over escalating tensions in the region, describing attacks on Gulf countries and their vital infrastructure as unacceptable.
In a message on the social network X, she announced that she had a telephone conversation with Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister.
Kallas wrote that the resumption of attacks on Gulf countries and their vital infrastructure is unacceptable.
The EU foreign policy chief also reported on her conversation with Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and emphasized that returning to a full-scale war would have heavy costs for the entire region.
She added that the diplomatic path is the best way to end conflicts and reduce tensions.
In contrast, Abbas Araghchi stated that in this conversation, he condemned the recent attacks by the United States and considered them a clear violation of the UN Charter and international law. According to Iran’s Foreign Minister, these attacks have also rendered the ceasefire ineffective.
