Kamala Harris Talks with Three Potential Vice Presidential Candidates for the U.S. Presidential Election

Kamala Harris’s discussions with three potential vice-presidential candidates for the U.S. presidential election

Kamala Harris will soon choose her vice-presidential candidate, and by introducing this running mate in the U.S. election, she will embark on a massive campaign tour across seven states.

Harris is set to announce her vice-presidential pick in the hours leading up to Tuesday evening and may even wait until before her major rally in Philadelphia. Many believe that starting this campaign tour in Pennsylvania signifies a high chance for Josh Shapiro, the governor of this state. Alongside Josh Shapiro, Tim Walz, the governor of Minnesota, and Mark Kelly, the senator from Arizona, are the main contenders for Harris’s vice-presidency. Harris had face-to-face discussions with these three individuals on Sunday.

Meanwhile, various factions of Democrats have mobilized against Shapiro’s vice-presidency. Progressive Democrats and left-wing radicals have launched serious campaigns against him due to his Jewish background, citing his support for Israel and opposition to anti-Israel demonstrators as their excuse. This is despite the fact that he was one of the first critics of Netanyahu among Democrats, and his opposition to anti-Israel demonstrations was a criticism of anti-Semitism.

Shapiro is a capable politician and a good orator, with an excellent track record in execution and management.

Tim Walz is favored by progressives and the Bernie Sanders faction.

On the other hand, Nancy Pelosi also likes him, and even Biden prefers Walz after Shapiro. Walz, like Shapiro, is a progressive governor with appeal to various segments of the middle class, particularly white Americans. He is a staunch supporter of justice-oriented economic approaches and is familiar with the language and understanding of the white and black middle class. Mark Kelly, the senator from Arizona, with a distinguished record in the Air Force, is renowned as a famous astronaut, and his wife’s reputation as a well-known politician who was a victim of a public shooting and assassination attempt, lends him credibility. However, he hasn’t won over the Democrats as much as Shapiro and Walz. His state is a key one, and he has excellent responses to the border and immigration crises, which are weak points for the Democrats.
