Kambiz Norouzi on the Imposition of Hijab: Neither Religious Justification Nor Legal Basis

Kambiz Norouzi, a lawyer and attorney, stated regarding the policies and actions of the Islamic Republic on the hijab that these matters have neither a jurisprudential basis nor a legal document.

This lawyer wrote on his Telegram channel on Thursday, April 13, that there is no jurisprudential fatwa for enforcing hijab as a form of commanding good, and legally, there is no ruling except for the note in Article 638 of the Islamic Penal Code.

He reminded that none of those insisting on enforcing mandatory hijab have been able to provide a religious reason for such actions.

On Thursday, the media center of the judiciary referred to a note in Article 638 of the Islamic Penal Code, claiming that unveiling in public has been criminalized.
