Karbaschi: Mr. Hashemi never thought of guiding society by force

The former Secretary-General of the Construction Party, during the unveiling ceremony of the latest memoirs of Hashemi Rafsanjani, said, ‘I remember when I was in the municipality, he had an opinion on the cultural issues of Tehran, and I would go to him. When Mr. Khatami resigned and Mr. Mirsalim was introduced as the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance in his place, I asked Mr. Hashemi how he went from Mr. Khatami to Mr. Mirsalim.’

He replied, ‘These matters will become clear in the future. They think that cultural issues can be advanced by force.’

He added, ‘Even today, we see in issues like hijab, which they once wanted to impose by force, they are now forced to surrender.’
