Kayhan forgot calling the national team ‘dishonorable’
Kayhan newspaper wrote that it is rare or unprecedented in World Cup history for people to seek refuge with a nation’s historical enemies, receive massive political and media support, and demand, with heavy propaganda, the elimination of that country’s national team from the World Cup.
Our national team, alongside all its challenges, was forced to fight against the malice of unpatriotic traitors, who do not even make up a fraction of a percent of our great nation. Yet, with political, economic, and media backing from a coalition comprising the USA, Britain, Israel, Saudi Arabia, and some treacherous opportunists within, they have created much uproar and are tasked with sowing division and discord among our people to weaken a powerful Iran.
These statements, published in Kayhan in support of the national team, come despite the fact that this newspaper called the team ‘dishonorable’ after the Iran-England match and was later forced to apologize.
