Kayhan forgot calling the national team ‘dishonorable’

The Kayhan newspaper wrote that it is rare or unprecedented in the history of the World Cup for some to seek refuge with a nation’s historical enemies, receive massive political and media support, and with heavy propaganda, demand the elimination of that country’s national team from the World Cup.

Our national team, alongside all its challenges, was forced to fight against this malice from treacherous compatriots who don’t even make up a fraction of a percent of our great nation. However, with political, economic, and media backing, they have formed a front with the U.S., Britain, Israel, Saudi Arabia, and some deceitful hypocrites inside, creating much noise and are tasked with promoting division and discord among our people to weaken a powerful Iran.

These statements published in Kayhan in support of the national team come despite the fact that this newspaper called the team ‘dishonorable’ after the Iran-England match and later had to apologize.
