Kayhan Newspaper's Attack on the Series 'Khatun': Kayhan Links 'Khatun' to Recent Protests

Kayhan newspaper’s attack on the series ‘Khatoon’ linked it to the recent protests.

The hardline Tehran newspaper Kayhan attacked the home series ‘Khatoon’ and linked it to the current protests.

Kayhan wrote that some scenes from the home network series have become propaganda tools for agitators with the start of recent disturbances, shared in the virtual space with opposing hashtags.

Kayhan, referring to parts of this series, accused it of inciting the public, particularly women, using the same method of past fabrication for future goals, and considered its dialogues as subversive.

The series ‘Khatoon’ is a historical narrative of September 1941 and the occupation of Iran during World War II by the Allies.

The main character of the series is a woman, and female fighters play a significant role in it. In some parts of the series, there is also criticism of the army’s indifference in supporting the people.

In the recent protests in Iran, clips from this series that align with current events have been repeatedly shared on social networks.
