Kayhan: Riyadh cannot negatively impact Iran-China relations

Shariatmadari: Some have said that Riyadh can negatively affect Iran-China relations. The reality is that in recent years, Iranian officials have been described in Chinese discourse as an irreplaceable country in West Asia.

Internationally, Iran is not compared with countries like Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

In Western discourse, when Asian powers are mentioned, Iran’s name is placed alongside China and Russia. Therefore, China’s relations with the Arab Gulf states, even if accompanied by significant economic figures, are one-sided and one-dimensional because the Arabs participating in the Riyadh meeting have nothing to offer besides oil, and at least for now, cannot take on roles in international politics.
