Imam Sadiq University announced the removal of Kazem Sedighi’s name from the list of speakers for the Night of Qadr ceremony at the university.

In a statement, the university cited scheduling conflicts and coordination issues as the reason for removing the interim Tehran Friday prayer leader’s name.

Previously, Imam Sadiq University in Tehran had announced that Kazem Sedighi would be one of the speakers at the Night of Qadr ceremony, which led to some protests.

Kazem Sedighi, the interim Tehran Friday prayer leader and head of the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice Headquarters, has been accused of land grabbing.

According to revelations by Yashar Soltani, the former chief editor of Memari News, Kazem Sedighi, along with his sons, acquired a 4,200 square meter garden in the Ozgol area of Tehran at 150 times below the market price.
