Khatami: 80 percent of Iranians don’t care about the identity of the ruler
Mohammad Khatami, the former President of the Islamic Republic, referring to the economic situation and crises in Iran, stated that 80 percent of Iranians are not politically inclined in a particular sense and it doesn’t really matter to them who the ruler is and how they govern. They just want to live, have security, and a clearer outlook for the future.
Khatami added that in the years following the revolution until now, the current crisis facing the country and the existing threats are unprecedented.
Khatami likened the Islamic Republic to a robust tree and said that although this robust tree can withstand drought and storms for years, today the internal and external threats and problems are so vast and significant that there is a fear that this robust tree may suddenly wither and collapse, which we hope never happens.
