Death of an Islamic Jihad group commander in Damascus
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights confirmed that a commander of the Islamic Jihad group was targeted and killed in an assassination attempt around Damascus on Sunday, March 19.
The military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad group, Saraya Al-Quds, also announced that Ali Ramzi, 31, a commander of this group, was killed by direct gunfire in the suburbs of Damascus.
Agence France-Presse reported that the militia of this group, supported by the Islamic Republic and based in the Gaza Strip, accused Israel of killing their commander. The Israeli military has not commented on this matter so far.
The Islamic Jihad group is listed as a terrorist organization by the European Union and the United States.
