Knife Attack at a Leisure Center in the UK Sends Eight to Hospital

A stabbing attack at a recreational center in the UK sent eight people to the hospital

On Monday afternoon, July 30, a stabbing attack at a children’s recreational and sports center in Southport, UK, sent eight people to the hospital. Police have arrested the attacker, but no information has yet been released about the attacker’s identity or possible motive.

According to BBC World, the attack took place at a children’s center. Tim Johnson, one of the reporters at the scene, said that the victims were children. He witnessed a wounded little girl being taken away by ambulance and said her parents were running after the stretcher. It was terrifying; I had never seen anything like it before.

Authorities have not yet announced how many of the eight victims treated so far are children, but they are considering the possibility of an increase in the number of victims. The police commander at the scene told reporters that given the initial chaos and some people fleeing the scene, there is a possibility that the injured may go directly to hospitals.
