Lahijan Representative: Last Year's Rice Remains in Warehouses, Yet Imports Continue

The representative of Lahijan states that last year’s rice remains in warehouses, yet imports are being conducted.

Farrokhi Mikal, the representative of Lahijan and Siahkal in the parliament, pointed out the problems of farmers in the northern provinces of the country, stating that the needs and the level of domestic production are being ignored in imports. As a result, last year’s rice still remains in warehouses, while imports continue. This situation has caused significant dissatisfaction among farmers.

I request the authorities to, under the current circumstances, remove factories and related associations from being considered doubtful debts, so they can receive a line of credit and pay the farmers.
