Raheb: Land subsidence is a serious national crisis

Ghazal Raheb, head of the Research Center of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, stated that the phenomenon of land subsidence is considered one of the serious crises in the country. Subsidence is observed in various regions of Iran, including south of Tehran, Kerman, Yazd, and Isfahan, and its effects are visible in many parts of the country.

She added that this issue is very important and must be examined with a completely expert and scientific perspective because the rate of subsidence is one matter, and the level of risk arising from it is another matter that requires precise specialized analyses.

She continued by saying that the rate of subsidence in the country varies; in some cities, the annual subsidence is about 20 centimeters, and in some areas, it even reaches 40 centimeters.
