Lavrov, the Russian Foreign Minister, mentioned the possibility of continuing Russia-Ukraine peace talks in Istanbul.
Sergey Lavrov, the Russian Foreign Minister, announced on Tuesday, June 6th, during a joint press conference with Hakan Fidan, the Turkish Foreign Minister, that Istanbul could once again host a new round of direct peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.
He described the city as very suitable and said, ‘If you ask me, I will once again turn to our Turkish friends.’
In another part of his speech, Lavrov sharply criticized the French arrogance and the incompetence of European leaders, pointing to the contradictory statements of the German Chancellor regarding the range of weapons sent to Ukraine.
He also claimed that France, contrary to its assertions, is practically at war with Russia.
Referring to regional developments and the Palestinians, he also said that Russia and Turkey share a common stance and deemed what is happening in Gaza and the West Bank as unacceptable.
