Legal Approval in Germany to Combat Bribery of Parliament Members

The German Federal Parliament, Bundestag, on Friday, April 26, May 7, approved stringent laws to combat bribery and corruption by parliament members.

According to the new laws, representatives who misuse their position and status related to their mandate in parliament to exert influence, for example on ministries, will face legal prosecution in the future.

Under paragraph 108f, unauthorized representation of interests will be considered a criminal offense in the future.
