Letter from the Independent Psychology Association to Qalibaf: The entry of seminary students into the field of psychology will have negative consequences

The Independent Health Psychology Association of Iran wrote a letter to Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf regarding the reasons for opposing the management of the country’s seminaries concerning counseling with a religious and Islamic approach.

Even if seminary students have received psychology and counseling training in seminary centers at the best level and according to the standards of the Ministry of Science and Health, they are still merely educational centers. The fact that an educational center simultaneously issues licenses leads to a conflict of roles and will have numerous negative effects both for the clients and even for the seminary itself. Based on this, to prevent the negative effects of this plan on the community of clients and the seminaries, it is requested that you refrain from approving the mentioned plan.
