Lifting sanctions on the IRGC is one of Iran’s priorities and has not been set aside in the JCPOA revival talks.
Fada-Hossein Maleki, a member of the National Security Commission, said that nowhere in the world do they sanction a country’s military force, which is also mentioned in the constitution, and such an action does not exist in international norms.
He added that the sanctioning of the IRGC by the United States is a big mistake, although from the very beginning, the Islamic Republic of Iran has informed the other party that it opposes this action.
Maleki emphasized that the U.S., with the plan to sanction the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, was pursuing other issues that Iran thwarted. Certainly, in the course of negotiations, Iran will not allow the continuation of IRGC sanctions. Lifting the sanctions on the IRGC has not been set aside as one of Iran’s priorities in the negotiations, although the IRGC will act according to the duties assigned by the constitution and will not pay attention to its own sanctions.
