Lord Stuart Polak Leaves the Hall at the Start of Amir-Abdollahian's Speech

Lord Stuart Polak, leave the hall when Amirabdollahian begins his speech.

Lord Stuart Polak, a member of the British House of Lords, requested the Foreign Secretary of his country to leave the hall when his Iranian counterpart begins his speech at the United Nations Human Rights Council meeting.

Mr. Polak said in a speech in his country’s parliament that if we are defenders of human rights, our Foreign Secretary should stand up and leave the meeting when Hossein Amirabdollahian speaks.

He referred to the international campaign urging members of the global community to leave the United Nations Human Rights Council meeting when the Iranian Foreign Minister speaks, and requested James Cleverly, the British Foreign Secretary, to take a firm stance and leave the hall at the start of Amirabdollahian’s speech due to the killing, torture, and execution of Iranians by the Islamic Republic.

The name of the Iranian Foreign Minister is listed alongside his British, Swedish, French, and Norwegian counterparts as speakers on Monday, the 27th of February, at the United Nations Human Rights Council meeting.
