Lufthansa has extended the suspension of its flights to Tehran until May 9th.

The airline Lufthansa has extended the cancellation of its flights to Tehran until May 9th. The company will also not use Iranian airspace for flights to Asia until further notice.

Following Iran’s threat to attack Israel and acting on this threat, Lufthansa suspended its flights to both countries. The suspension for Iran was initially set to end on April 30th, but it has now been extended for another 9 days.

On Monday, April 29th, Lufthansa issued a statement explaining the extension of the flight cancellations to Tehran, stating that the safety of its passengers and crew has always been the highest priority.

The statement also mentions that Lufthansa relies not only on government data but also on its own independent assessments when evaluating the current security situation, and it bases its decisions on these evaluations.
