Mahdavian’s Film Did Not Receive Permission to Be Made
While Mohammad Hossein Mahdavian intended to make a film based on Albert Camus’ ‘The Stranger’, news released by the crew indicates that the script for this film has been rejected.
Mehdi Yazdani Khoram, who co-wrote the script for ‘The Outcast’ with Mahdavian, wrote in part of his note protesting this decision: Mr. Habib Il Beigi, head of the Cinema License Issuance Council, why has the script for ‘The Outcast’, which is a free adaptation of ‘The Stranger’ by Albert Camus, been banned under your leadership? And has the scope become so narrow that even ‘The Stranger’ is no longer tolerated?
