Majid Salehi: I still haven’t received my awards

Majid Salehi, who won the Crystal Simorgh for Best Actor at last year’s Fajr Film Festival and announced at the closing ceremony that he would dedicate his award to the people of Khoy, wrote in a story addressing the festival officials:

Alas, from the conscientious and honorable officials. I was supposed to receive a car as the prize for Best Actor, and I proudly dedicated it to the oppressed and kind earthquake-stricken people of Khoy. I entrusted the task to Hadi Hejazifar, who, along with Mrs. Ayda Panahandeh, was helping their noble fellow citizens at that time.

Sadly, after two and a half months, it still hasn’t been delivered. I wish it had at least been done before the New Year, so it could have been a small and modest help to the dear children of Khoy, as they needed it more during those days.

Thank God it’s not for me, so they don’t think I have a financial interest.
