Marco Rubio will begin his official trip to Israel and the United Kingdom on Saturday.
The United States Department of State announced that Marco Rubio, the U.S. Secretary of State, will start his trip to Israel and the United Kingdom tomorrow, Saturday, September 12.
According to a statement from the department, during this trip, Rubio will emphasize Washington’s commitment to Israel’s security and the necessity of preventing Hamas from regaining power in the Gaza Strip.
In Israel, he will outline the U.S. priorities in the Israel-Hamas conflict and broader Middle East security issues, and discuss operational goals related to the Gideon Chariots 2 operation with Israeli officials.
According to the U.S. Department of State, Rubio will also meet with the families of hostages held by Hamas and will reiterate that their release is a top priority for the U.S.
He will then travel to the United Kingdom to join the delegation accompanying the U.S. President on his second official state visit.
Rubio is scheduled to meet with Yvette Cooper, the British Secretary of State, in London.
