Marco Rubio should prevent escalating tensions with China
Marco Rubio, the U.S. Secretary of State, warned in an interview with Fox News that any economic or military confrontation between the U.S. and China would have disastrous consequences for both countries and the global economy.
He described managing the competition with China as one of the most challenging foreign policy issues for the U.S. and said Washington must strike a balance between defending national interests and preventing escalating tensions.
Rubio also described Cuba as an intelligence superpower and claimed that this country has historically been able to continuously infiltrate its intelligence agents into U.S. structures.
In another part of this interview, the U.S. Secretary of State announced the Trump administration’s efforts to resume Ukraine peace talks and said Washington would take steps in the coming weeks to restart talks and end the war, although he noted that both sides still have firm red lines.
According to Rubio, other parts of this interview, including his remarks about Iran, have not yet been released.
