The governor of Masal: Providing services to unveiled individuals in Masal is prohibited
The governor of Masal in Gilan province asked various city departments and businesses, even bakeries and pharmacies, not to provide services to those who, according to him, have unveiled.
On Wednesday, March 29, Gholamreza Gil Chalani said in a meeting of the county’s Hijab and Chastity working group that bakeries, hotels, pharmacies, departments, businesses, and restaurants are not allowed to serve individuals who have unveiled.
He threatened that any restaurant providing services to unveiled individuals must answer to the Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade.
Officials of the Islamic Republic use the term ‘unveiling’ for women and girls who refuse to adhere to the mandatory hijab in public places.
Every year at the beginning of summer, the Islamic Republic’s law enforcement launches a new wave of morality patrols on the streets to enforce the mandatory hijab.
Last September, the morality patrol’s arrest of Mahsa Amini, a young girl from Saqqez who had traveled to Tehran with her family, resulted in her death, sparking widespread protests across the country.
