Math Teacher in Khomeinishahr Sentenced to Three-Month Suspension

A math teacher in Khomeinishahr was sentenced to a three-month suspension from service.

According to the Coordinating Council of Teachers’ Trade Associations, Hamid Majiri, a math teacher in Khomeinishahr, was sentenced to a three-month suspension from teaching on charges of propaganda against the regime, supporting the Woman, Life, Freedom movement, and encouraging students to tear up pictures of Ali Khamenei from textbooks.

This teacher, who has 29 years of service, was arrested by security forces at his workplace on October 12, 2022, during the nationwide uprising and was sentenced to seven months in prison.

Majiri was eventually released from prison after serving his sentence.

Hamid Majiri was also sentenced to three years of exile in 2007 on charges of participating in the Coordinating Council meeting in Gilan.

Previously, security forces arrested Suleiman Abdi, a teacher from Saqqez, on March 19, 2023.
