McCarthy: The threat to peace in the Middle East stems from Iran’s actions
The Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, on Monday, May 1, in a speech at the Knesset, Israel’s parliament, criticized the actions and policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran, stating that as long as he holds this position, the U.S. will continue to fully support Israel financially and its security.
According to Kevin McCarthy, the majority of violence, instability, and threats to peace in the Middle East originate from Iran’s actions.
Mr. McCarthy, in his speech which was broadcast live from the Knesset and on the i24 network, emphasized the firm commitment of the U.S. to preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and countering the destabilizing approach of the Islamic Republic.
He stated that Iran, by supporting terrorism, has complicated the region’s situation, fueled the civil war in Yemen, supported Hezbollah in Lebanon and militias throughout the region, and supplied them with missiles to besiege Israel.
