Meeting of NATO Defense Ministers in Germany

NATO defense ministers have gathered to discuss the details of providing more military support to Ukraine.

This meeting is being held at a U.S. military base in Germany. Ukraine is requesting more advanced weapons.

It is expected that with NATO’s help, this country will launch its counterattack against Russia by the end of spring.

The U.S. Defense Secretary stated that today in this meeting, we are focusing on three topics: air defense, artillery, and infantry equipment. Ukraine urgently needs these weapons to protect its citizens from Russian attacks.

The NATO Secretary-General also spoke about Ukraine joining NATO, saying that my message above all is that Ukraine should find its true place in NATO. All our allies agree on this, but our focus right now is to ensure Ukraine does not lose the war. If it loses, the discussion of NATO membership becomes meaningless.
