Mehdi Taj: The National Security Council of the country has approved the entry of women into stadiums.
Mehdi Taj, the president of the Iranian Football Federation, has stated that the National Security Council of the country has approved the entry of women into stadiums.
According to ISNA news agency, a task force consisting of representatives from the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the Football Federation, and two intelligence agencies has been established to determine how this decision will be implemented.
He has said that in stadiums like Gol Gohar, Sepahan, Zob Ahan, and Ghadir Ahvaz, which are suitable, women will be present. Azadi Stadium also needs to be prepared.
Officials of the Islamic Republic have repeatedly made contradictory statements about the presence of women in stadiums and have prevented their entry under various pretexts, including the lack of infrastructure.
FIFA has also repeatedly warned Iran that women must be allowed to attend stadiums without restrictions.
After FIFA’s warning, for several national matches, it was reported that in a few instances where some women entered Azadi Stadium, these individuals were selectively chosen, and the opportunity to purchase tickets was not available to everyone.
