Member of Parliament Had No Involvement in Filtering

Members of the Parliament had no involvement in the filtering.

A candidate for the twelfth parliamentary elections from the Hamadan and Famenin constituency said that the filtering of social networks was not carried out by the members of the Parliament, but rather this decision was approved and implemented by the Supreme National Security Council.

Ahmad Hossein Fallahi stated to reporters on Wednesday that he is against the filtering of cyberspace and believes that cyberspace should be regulated.

He added that currently, especially during election campaigns, due to the lack of law, users publish any incorrect subject on social networks, and no one addresses it.

This member of Parliament said that the Parliament, by proposing the plan to protect cyberspace, aimed to legislate and regulate it, but this plan progressed slowly in the Parliament, and the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly did not pursue this matter.

The candidate for the twelfth parliamentary elections stated that he does not have any activities on social networks like WhatsApp, Telegram, and Instagram, and only uses the social networks Eitaa and Bale, where all articles, texts, and speech clips are uploaded.
