A member of the media team of the negotiations said there will be no agreement without the release of Iran’s assets.
A member of the media team of the Iranian negotiating delegation in Islamabad emphasized that the release of Iran’s blocked assets is one of the main conditions for entering the next phase of negotiations.
Amirhossein Yazdanpanah, in an interview with Iranian media, dismissed reports about the possibility of the U.S. using Iran’s blocked assets to compensate Gulf Arab countries.
He stated that the release of Iran’s blocked funds is one of the conditions that, if fulfilled, paves the way for entering the next phase of negotiations, and if these funds are not released according to the memorandum of understanding, there will be neither a temporary agreement nor negotiations for a final agreement.
Yazdanpanah also emphasized that Tehran will not back down from its position on reclaiming these assets.
According to him, in one of the mediation meetings, Iranian officials were asked to move past the issue of blocked assets, but Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of the Parliament, emphasized the necessity of the complete release of these funds and stated that these funds belong to the people of Iran and we will not compromise on even a bit of it.
