A member of the National Security Commission said that birth certificates are only given to foreign nationals whose father or mother is Iranian.
A member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Parliament stated regarding the latest status of the Iran-Pakistan borders that we have reached an agreement with Pakistan to build walls instead of fences in some border areas, and good studies and actions have been taken in this regard.
Fada-Hossein Maleki commented on the organization of Iran’s borders, stating that despite our country being immigrant-friendly, in recent years, there has been an uncontrolled influx of immigrants, which has caused concern among the people. Some security and political events in some neighboring countries have intensified this concern among the people and the government.
Mr. Maleki mentioned the establishment of a National Immigration Organization, stating that the General Directorate of Foreign Nationals and Immigrants Affairs was not suitable for this vast volume, which has been upgraded with the approval of the Parliament. There is talk of creating a National Immigration Organization that might be able to centralize all the relevant agencies’ perspectives, and this needs to be done as soon as possible to reduce concerns.
He concluded by emphasizing the issuance of birth certificates to foreign nationals, reiterating that birth certificates are only given to those whose father or mother is Iranian, based on legal provisions.
