A member of the Parliamentary Energy Commission stated that the hacking of fuel stations was carried out through physical interference by individuals.
Parviz Mohammadnezhad said, ‘Our perspective is that there was physical tampering, and the disruption in the system could have happened in several ways. One way is through the internet, which is a hacking space where incidents can occur everywhere, including power plants. However, in our view, what happened was due to physical interference by individuals, who entered the system through a flash drive or a program, and it was internal.’
This is the second time such an incident has happened in a large country like Iran, which has great talents, very good people, and very active organizations and institutions. It’s not acceptable for us to be stung from the same hole twice and to allow individuals within the government to easily do whatever they want. Certainly, this time we will be more involved than the last time, and we will take preventive measures.
