Methods of Case Building Against Women Opposing Mandatory Hijab

An official from the Islamic Republic’s judiciary explained details of the process of building cases against women who oppose mandatory hijab, as well as the role of various institutions and even the neighbors of these women in this matter, while also claiming that the judiciary is not seeking to fabricate cases.

Ali Nesaei, the public and revolutionary prosecutor of South Khorasan, said on Sunday, April 9, that the judiciary of the Islamic Republic uses various organizations and even residents of an apartment complex to build cases against women opposing mandatory hijab.

He said that if there are individuals in a building who unveil and promote this act, it should be reported to the police.

Issuing statements and making threatening remarks against citizens opposing mandatory hijab has increased after the leader of the Islamic Republic, in his speech on April 4, once again took a harsh stance against women’s right to freedom of dress and linked opposition to mandatory hijab to enemies and intelligence services.
