Metro Cameras Are Not Capable of Facial Recognition

Metro cameras are not capable of facial recognition.

Following investigations, it was revealed that Tehran metro cameras are not capable of facial recognition.

Cameras inside the train and on the platform record images, but they are not processed, and the only solution is to zoom the image on the individual’s face.

Previously, Mohammad Saleh Hashemi Golpayegani, the secretary of the Headquarters for Enjoining Good and Forbidding Wrong, had said that with today’s technology, images can be matched with national ID card photos.
