Michigan Court Opposes Disqualification of Trump

Michigan court opposed disqualifying Trump

The Michigan Supreme Court on Wednesday, December 27, rejected the request to ban Donald Trump from participating in the Republican Party’s nomination for the 2024 presidential election.

In its ruling, the Michigan Supreme Court stated that it will not consider the request by four voters living in the state to disqualify Donald Trump from this competition due to the former US President’s role in the attack by a group of his supporters on the Capitol building on January 6, 2021.

The four voters residing in Michigan argued in their request that according to the US Constitution, anyone who has sworn an oath of allegiance to this Constitution and has participated in inciting insurrection should be disqualified from holding public office.

The judges of the Michigan Supreme Court stated in a brief ruling that they are not convinced to review this request.
