Minister of Culture: Films Without Permits Will Not Be Allowed to Participate in Foreign Festivals

We do not allow films that have not received a permit to be sent to foreign festivals, says the Minister of Guidance.

Esmaeili, the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, said on the Jahanara program that from the very beginning, I stood firm and stated that we do not allow public screening and sending films to foreign festivals before obtaining a screening permit. Previously, some people did this and were even praised for it.

He added that recently, there have been two or three cases of filming without a permit, which is a cause for complaint against some organizations, but with the supervision in place, we have even stopped the continuation of work on set.

Esmaeili said that in a recent case, I stated that this film has crossed all red lines and I also ordered action to be taken.
