Minister of Education: We do not have statistics on detained students

Yousef Nouri, Iran’s Minister of Education, stated in an interview with ILNA news agency that they do not have statistics on students who have been detained.

In the nationwide protests in Iran, over 50 children have been killed so far, and reports indicate a large number of students have been detained.

Mr. Nouri mentioned that for some students who naturally disrupted the order and discipline of the environment, our colleagues in counseling centers are working to identify the existing issues, and hopefully, they will assist the students with counseling and psychological methods.

The United Nations and human rights organizations have expressed concern over the violence and arrest of students in Iran.

In the protests that began after the death of Mahsa Amini in the morality police’s custody, teenagers have played a prominent role.
