The Minister of Oil announced that special fuel cards for gas station pumps will soon be invalidated.

The Iranian Minister of Oil has stated that the special fuel cards for gas station pumps will soon be invalidated, and purchasing gasoline and diesel will only be possible with a personal card specific to each vehicle.

Javad Oji told reporters that according to the 1403 Budget Law, the Ministry of Oil is required to have 95% of fuel purchases made through personal cards.

However, Mr. Oji added that people have not taken the fuel card seriously yet, and to prevent any issues during the Nowruz holidays, the Ministry of Oil has instructed gas stations to have enough fuel cards available.

The Minister of Oil emphasized that within a week to 10 days after the end of the Nowruz holidays, information will be provided on this matter, and then the law will be enforced.

However, in line with the statements of the Minister of Oil, the CEO of the National Oil Products Distribution Company said that emergency cards will still be available at stations, and the maximum use of personal fuel cards does not mean the complete collection of free fuel cards at stations.
