Minister Survives Red Crescent Helicopter Crash

Reports indicate that the overall condition of Hamid Sajjadi, the Iranian Minister of Sports and Youth, is not worrisome and he has emerged from the helicopter crash unharmed.

However, Ismail Ahmadi, the minister’s advisor and director of the ministry’s office, was killed in the incident.

According to Mehr News Agency, Mr. Sajjadi had a short trip to Kerman and on Wednesday night inaugurated three sports projects in Sirjan: a 5,000 square meter sports hall costing 100 billion Tomans, a 200-meter shooting range costing 1.2 billion Tomans, and a specialized training camp for athletics costing 800 million Tomans.

He was returning from the region in Kerman province in a helicopter belonging to the Red Crescent organization.

Hamid Sajjadi was flying in a Red Crescent helicopter, which, out of a total of 24 helicopters owned by the rescue organization, as stated by Pirhossein Koolivand, the head of the Red Crescent Society, 10 rescue helicopters are currently grounded due to lack of funding for major repairs.

Mr. Sajjadi was on one of these Red Crescent helicopters that crashed.
