Ministry of Cultural Heritage Unilaterally Lifts Visa for Chinese Citizens

Ali Asghar Shalbafan, Deputy Minister of Tourism of Iran’s Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts, has announced Iran’s initiative to voluntarily lift visas for Chinese citizens.

He stated that the Iranian government has always prioritized facilitating the entry of tourists to increase the attraction of tourists and guests from China, and based on this, has voluntarily removed the visa requirement for Chinese tourists. He mentioned this in a gathering of Chinese tourism professionals who traveled to Iran as part of a tour.

In 2019, Iran also announced the unilateral lifting of visas with China, stating that Chinese nationals would be allowed to stay in Iran for 15 days without a visa on each visit.
