Ministry of Intelligence: Perpetrators of Shah Cheragh Attack Were Nationals from Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, and Afghanistan

The Ministry of Intelligence stated that the perpetrators of the Shahcheragh attack were nationals of Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, and Afghanistan.

The Ministry of Intelligence of the Islamic Republic issued a statement claiming that it has arrested 26 people in connection with the attack on the Shahcheragh shrine. According to this statement, all those arrested were nationals of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan and were linked to ISIS.

The Ministry of Intelligence identified the attacker as Sobhan Kamruni, also known as Abu Aisha, a national of Tajikistan, and the person responsible for coordinating the attack as Mohammad Ramez Rashidi, also known as Abu Basir, a citizen of Afghanistan.

In the Ministry of Intelligence’s statement, those who consider the Shahcheragh attack to be a ploy by the Iranian government to further suppress protests have been threatened.
