Reaction of the Ministry of Oil to news about the sale of fuel cards: Each card has a specific code, and if it leaves the station, it won’t work at another station.
The CEO of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company said our duty is for 90% of people to use personal fuel cards, which is stated in the law and must be adhered to, and we are currently informing people about this law.
Currently, people must refuel using personal fuel cards, and if for any reason they do not have their card with them, they can use an emergency card. However, considering the shortened issuance time for cards, we will increase the restrictions on using station cards.
The emergency cards at stations are under the control of the distribution company, and monitoring is conducted. The dashboard invoice must be provided to the company, so it is impossible for a card to be taken out of the station.
Additionally, each card has a specific code, and if it leaves the station, it won’t work at another station.
Personal cards also have 160 liters of gasoline, so it doesn’t make sense for them to be sold for amounts between 1 to 5 million.
