Missile attack on a Greek ship in the Red Sea

The United States military launched a new attack on the positions of Yemen’s Houthis on Tuesday, January 16, destroying at least four of the group’s ballistic missiles on land, according to Reuters.

Two American officials, who wished to remain anonymous, stated that the destroyed missiles were of the anti-ship type.

Reuters reports that no news had previously been released regarding this attack.

Meanwhile, a Greek cargo ship near the coast of Yemen was targeted by a missile launched by the Houthis.

This was announced by the maritime security company Ambrey. According to the statement from this British company, the Greek bulk carrier, which sails under the Maltese flag, was hit by a missile while traveling from the south of the Red Sea to the north and was forced to change course.

According to a source in the Greek Ministry of Shipping, the bulk carrier is named Zografiya and is en route to Israel with 24 crew members from Vietnam.

The Greek official stated that the vessel sustained limited damage, but all crew members are safe, and the ship continues its journey.
