Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf: Protesters are connected to espionage services

Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf claims protesters are connected to espionage services

The Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, in a speech before the agenda of the public session on Monday, January 4th, used the common rhetoric of Islamic Republic officials, referring to protesters as rioters and troublemakers, and claimed their connection to espionage services.

Ghalibaf further stated that the Iranian nation has historically put many traitors and sellouts in their place.

These statements continue the recent stances of senior Islamic Republic officials and align with the remarks of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic. On Saturday, January 2nd, during the seventh day of economic-political protests in several Iranian cities, the Supreme Leader had asked Islamic Republic officials to, as he put it, put the rioters in their place.
