Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf: The Iranian nation prevents protests from turning into chaos.
Referring to yesterday’s gatherings protesting price hikes, Ghalibaf stated that people’s concerns and protests regarding livelihood issues must be addressed with full responsibility. He emphasized that dialogue, especially with representatives of various sectors, and necessary actions focusing on increasing people’s purchasing power and reforming the decision-making process in economic matters should be prioritized by executive officials.
He mentioned that ill-wishers and organized movements aim to turn any public demand and protest into chaos and disorder using their trained agents in the field. However, the Iranian nation has repeatedly demonstrated its awareness, vigilance, and dedication to the country’s security. No one is more concerned about this country than the people themselves, and therefore, their protests should be handled with patience, responsibility, and full accountability.
The Speaker of the Parliament said that the Iranian people recognize the enemy and their malicious goals, and with self-awareness, they will prevent the objectives of the ill-wishers’ field agents from being realized. They will stop the protests from being diverted into chaos, which is the enemy’s planned goal.
Officials of the Islamic Republic refer to public protests as riots.
