Mohammad Ebrahim Rahimpour of the Islamic Republic of Iran Gifts Samarkand as a Beauty Mark to New York

Mohammad Ebrahim Rahimpour of the Islamic Republic of Iran gives Samarkand to the mole of New York

Mohammad Ebrahim Rahimpour, former Deputy Foreign Minister, in an interview with Shargh about the President’s visit to Samarkand stated

Political and media currents inside the country are trying to dissuade the President from attending the United Nations by creating a polarization because, in their view, not only does the trip to New York have no achievements for the country, but Raisi’s presence in America could also lead to costs and controversies for the government.

There is a famous poem by Hafez that says, ‘I would give Samarkand and Bukhara for the mole on her face,’ but the Islamic Republic of Iran is not going to give Samarkand to the mole of New York. New York has its own story, and the Samarkand summit has its own story. With the current situation in the country and the conditions the thirteenth government is in, the President should implement a comprehensive and balanced approach for his foreign policy. We should not set one meeting against another.
